Pandora's Box

Listen to me little children, take heed and listen well.
There is wisdom in this broken old man, although by looking you can't tell.
It is in the scars on my broken and bent body the story is told.
It is my old bent shoulders that have carried this heavy load.

When I was young and in my prime I thought there were no mountain I could not climb.
I thought there were no seas I could not sail and I never dreamed I could fail.
I ran headlong without a care, and ignored the hidden dangers there.
So the tempter who is cunning as a fox knew just how the get me to open Pandora's Box.

I have fought in the hell of man's war, and drank my whiskey with many a whore.
I have played along with the devil's tune, taking my drugs in a smoke filled room.
I have loved the thrill of the game, yes even loved to put my hand in the flame.
I have loved the thrill of speed even knowing the curve I could not succeed.

There seemed to be no end to the thrill of Pandora's Box till I saw the truth of the lie.
Yes the thrill I sought began to elude me no matter how hard I would try.
A jailer the whiskey and drugs became and the speed only wanted me to die.
Yes the thrill I sought began to elude me no matter how hard I would try.

If I continue to heed the prince of the power of the air, I'll only be plunged deeper into dark despair.
However, I'm so desperately trapped by this evil nature of mine, like a pitiful drunkard to his bottle of wine.
There is no despair greater than what I now taste, like the tree in the garden…poison laced.
That is so my friend but the sorry thing is that like the addicted my pain is self inflicted.

So listen to me little children, take heed and listen well.
There is wisdom in this broken old man, although by looking you can't tell.
It is in the scars on my broken and bent body the story is told.
It is my old bent shoulders that have carried this heavy load.

So don't ever be a fool…Never listen to the fox...Never open Pandora's Box!

May God Bless you all.
